Chanel Iman was destined to be a model from the day she was born. From the runways of Milan to the cover of the Times Fall fashion issue this globetrotter has done it all. The twenty year-old, five-foot-ten beauty gets her looks from her half Korean, half African-American mother and African-American father who fully supported her career. She was presented on the cover of Vogue in 2007 as, “one of the world’s next top supermodels”. Chanel Iman has worked hard to add many designers such as Anna Sui, Marc Jacobs, Valentino, Yves Saint Laurent, Ralph Lauren, Christian Dior, and Dolce & Gabbana to her list of employers.

Her career skyrocketed and in an whirlwind of runway and advertisements later the supermodel was on her way to the top. Chanel discussed the difficulties that African-American models face in a New York Times feature. The great American photographer Annie Leibovitz, known for her portrait of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, photographed Iman for Bottega Veneta in 2007. In March 2007 she appeared on The Today Show to promote her Vogue cover. Chanel Iman achieved an unbelievable amount of success in her first two years.

Later that year Chanel escorted Phillip Lim to the Costume Institute Gala, opened the spring Rock and Republic show, and appeared in a DKNY fall ad campaign with Taylor Fuchs and Alana Zimmer.
